Research and Planning
The scope of the project was determined after meetings with the client. Different meetings were held with various departments of the tourism department.
Purpose, goals, target audience and content type was determined.
All the content was gathered from the client side. A detailed desktop research was performed to see the landscape to tourism websites. Purpose, goals, target audience and content type were outlined using design levers, (Who, What, When, Where, Why & How).
Site Map
Using the information gathered from research phase, a site map was developed. All the main topic areas and sub-topics of the site were listed. A clear hierarchical structure and navigation system was designed.
Wire frames
On the basis of site mapping and information gathered from the client in the planning phase, a Wireframe of the website was developed.
Wireframing formed the basis of layout design of the web pages.
A detailed wireframe of menu systems was designed to cover the vast content and category types. Consistency and ease of use were given special attention while designing the menu system.
Design
With the help of information gathered in Wireframing, site mapping, and research phase and keeping in mind the target audience; a Tone and a Mood board were developed. Drawing from all these elements the UI Design of the website was developed

User Testing
Using people from different offices of tourism department and also using random people, the website was tested in detail. Some adjustment in the menu system and further division in categories was a few changes made as a result of testing feedback.
